Shaping Our Future

Workshop Series

GetRightGetTight is seeking donations to support youth through free hairstyles, beauty support services, and confidence-building experiences. The purpose of this donation drive is to help provide youth with access to hair care, grooming items, and salon-related resources that promote self-esteem, personal pride, and positive self-image. Many young people do not always have access to these services or supplies, and this effort helps remove that barrier while showing them they are valued and supported by the community.

Donations will help us provide free hairstyles, beauty salon accessories, and basic hair care items for youth participating in our program. These services do more than improve appearance—they help build confidence, encourage school readiness, and expose youth to the beauty industry in a positive and uplifting way.

Community members may donate beauty and salon items in person at 1515 Mt Hope, Lansing, MI, or make a monetary gift to help purchase needed supplies and support program services.

Donations We Can Accept

We welcome new and gently unused items such as:

• Shampoo and conditioner

• Hair grease, oils, and edge control

• Combs, brushes, and picks

• Hair clips and hair ties

• Braiding hair and crochet hair

• Shampoo capes and salon capes

• Towels and hand towels

• Blow dryers, flat irons, and curling tools

• Barber clippers and trimmers

• Styling gel, mousse, and setting products

• Mannequin heads for training

• Hair beads, bows, and beauty accessories

• Bonnets, durags, and satin scarves

• Mirrors

• Disinfectant and sanitation supplies

• Barber and salon aprons

• Storage bins and organizers

• Gift cards to beauty supply stores

Monetary Giving

Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase salon supplies, hair products, beauty accessories, and other items needed to serve youth through the program.
